ATR Aircraft
Thursday, August 13, 2009 | 2:29 amThe ATR is a small aircraft used by commercial airlines in sectors which don’t generate very high crowds or to places where the airport run way is compatible for a wide bodied aircraft or for short haul flights. There are lots of advantages of using an ATR, the most important one being the turn around time for the flight is extremely low. Also, the ATR helps the airlines to run to near full capacity which would have been less than the break even capacity for a wide bodied aircraft. Though the ATR cruises at lower speeds than their wide bodied cousins, the additional time required is not so high, thereby making it the perfect one for short haul flights.
